Notice to users during EGG Genius setup: Our latest firmware update has been released (April 2019) for Big Green Egg's Egg Genius. This update resolves connectivity issues that can occur when using the controllers in areas with weak Wi-Fi signals or slow internet connections. This update will help users who have noticed that their controller frequently drops its connection to Flame Boss's cloud servers. Users who have experienced these issues may have difficulty completing the update due to a broken connection to the servers providing the update. The update must be fully downloaded while connected. If the download is interrupted, it will resume from the beginning when the controller is reconnected to the server. To download the latest firmware to your controller (the green box with the fan), please follow these steps.
- Control the device via your smartphone, tablet or computer to remotely manage and monitor the EGG's internal temperature.
- Monitor your food temperature; See your cooks' graphs.
- Receive alerts when your cook is finished or when the EGG temperature is too high or too low
- Quickly and easily reach your desired cooking temperature when the fan speeds up to fan the lit charcoal; once the desired temperature is reached, the variable speed fan automatically adjusts the fan speed to optimize the set temperature.
- Automatically lowers the temperature of the pit to keep your food warm after cooking is complete.
- Detects sudden temperature drop due to dome opening and temporarily turns off the fan to avoid over-fueling the fire.
- In the event of a power outage, the device continues to operate at the stored set temperature and automatically reconnects to the Wi-Fi network when power returns.
