Village Gourmet Concept - Brie Pecan and Brown Sugar Filling
Place the filling on a Brie or Camembert in a pan and bake in the oven (350F/180C) for 15 to 20 minutes. Serve with artisan bread.
Pecans & Brown Sugar
All you need:
- 1 sachet of filling for Brie Gourmet du Village
- 2 tbsp (30 g) unsalted butter
- 2 tsp (10 ml) brandy or apple juice *optional
- 1 (225g/8oz) slice of Brie or Camembert
- 1 French baguette, thinly sliced
All we do:
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C)
Score the top rind with a knife OR remove the top rind from the cheese, leaving the side and bottom rinds intact. Place the cheese, cut side up, in a cast iron skillet or fondue pot.
In a small heatproof bowl, combine the Brie filling with the butter and brandy or apple juice and microwave for about 25-30 seconds.
Stir.
Microwave 2 more times for 25-30 seconds, making sure to stir well each time.
Cover the top of the cheese evenly with the filling.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
Remove and serve with baguette slices.
