- Apply 1 teaspoon of Weber Griddle Seasoning Wax with a lint-free cotton cloth to the entire griddle surface â front to back, side to side, including the inside and outside of the side walls.
- Use a separate cloth to wipe off any excess seasoning wax so that the surface is evenly coated.
- Turn the burners on high. The surface will begin to smoke and darken (about 10 minutes).
- If oil begins to bead on the surface, using oven mitts, hold a paper towel with tongs to wipe excess oil from the griddle.
- When the surface stops smoking (about another 20 to 30 minutes), turn off the heat on the griddle. Let it cool for at least 30 minutes.
- The griddle now has 1 layer of seasoning. Repeat steps 1-5 at least 2 more times to build your seasoning,
